Powerwell Signs was founded by Jin Ma, a signage industry professional with over 30 years of experience in signage manufacturing, promotional materials, and commercial project delivery.
Jin Ma’s career began in the late 1980s in international trade and logistics, followed by more than two decades leading signage manufacturing and large-scale retail rollout projects in Mainland China. As Managing Director of Beijing Powerwell, he worked as an exclusive vendor for global brands such as Motorola and Nokia, overseeing production, quality control, and nationwide deployments.
In 2012, Jin brought this international experience to Canada and established Powerwell Signs in British Columbia, with a clear focus on architectural signage for commercial and retail environments. The company was built on the understanding that successful signage requires more than fabrication — it requires planning, coordination, and regulatory knowledge.
Over time, Powerwell Signs expanded beyond traditional sign-making to include signage consulting, helping clients address feasibility, by-law compliance, and construction coordination early in the process. This consulting-driven approach has allowed Powerwell Signs to support projects for retail brands, hospitality operators, developers, and municipalities, including approved vendor relationships with Starbucks, Kumon, Code Ninjas, and project work for Marriott Hotels, Scott DB Services, and the Township of Langley.
Today, Powerwell Signs is recognized across Metro Vancouver and the Lower Mainland for its practical expertise, code-compliant solutions, and dependable execution. Guided by Jin Ma’s leadership, the company continues to help clients deliver signage that is strategically planned, professionally built, and built to last.
